Signing Up Your Students And Teachers

Last Updated: Sep 11, 2016 09:46PM CDT

After you have set up your music school for JamClass by JamKazam, you will likely want to let your students (and student parents) know about this online music lesson service, so that they can decide if this is something that would be valuable and useful to them.

Student Signup

It's very easy to let your students know about JamKazam's online music lesson service, and very easy for your students to sign up. To let your students know about the online lesson service, sign in to the JamKazam website at www.jamkazam.com using your email and password. You will see the home page (pictured below).

Click the Account tile (pictured above with arrow). The account page is displayed (pictured below).

Scroll to the bottom of the account page, and you will see the School section of your account. Click the Update button (pictured above with arrow). Your school account page is displayed (pictured below).

Click the Members tile (pictured above with arrow), and the page where you can invite students and teachers is displayed (pictured below).

Click the orange Invite Student button (pictured above with arrow), and a sample invitation message is displayed (pictured below).

Now you can simply copy the sample invitation message text, and paste it into whatever application you use to communicate with your students and parents. You are welcome to edit the message as you see fit. We've written the message to save you time and make it easy. One thing you do not want to change is the web links (the URLs) in the message. When a student clicks on the sign up link (pictured above with arrow), the page where students can sign up is displayed (pictured below).

To sign up, the student simply enters his or her email address and a password, and clicks the Sign Up button. After a student has signed up, a staff member at JamKazam will promptly follow up with the student to answer all questions, and if the student and parent want to move forward with online lessons, we'll give the student all the 1:1 tech support they need to get set up and ready, and we'll even hop into an online session with the student to make sure everything is working properly, and that the student is comfortable with the features of the app they'll be using for online lessons.

Students may also see a list of any preferred private lesson instructors the music program director has invited to be associated with the school, and may book lessons with a preferred instructor by clicking the Book Lesson button next to the desired teacher (pictured above on left side of page). If your music program does not have preferred instructors, then the student may click a link near the top of the page to search our broader community of teachers, which will take them to our teacher search page (pictured below).

From here, a student may search for teachers using a variety of criteria, such as instruments taught, levels and ages taught, and so on, and may book lessons with any of these teachers.

Teacher Signup

If your music program has preferred teachers who regularly teach your students, you can also sign up these preferred teachers on JamKazam. If you do this, these teachers will be associated with your school, so that students can more easily find these preferred teachers and book lessons with them.

To sign up your teachers, sign in to the JamKazam website at www.jamkazam.com.

Click the Members tile (pictured above with arrow). The school members page is displayed (pictured below).

Click the Invite Teacher button (pictured above with arrow). The Invite Teachers dialog box is displayed (pictured below).

Type in the first name, last name, and email address of one of your school's preferred teachers, and then click the Send Invitation button. Your school member page is updated to show that you have invited this teacher, and that this teacher has not yet accepted your invitation (pictured below with arrow).

At the same time, an email is sent to the teacher (pictured below).

When the teacher clicks the Sign Up Now button in this email, they are taken to the JamKazam website, to a page that lets them sign up for a JamKazam account (pictured below).

The teacher then simply enters a password and clicks the Sign Up button, and their teacher account is created and automatically associated with your school. As soon as the teacher registers for an account, your school members page is updated to reflect that the teacher has signed up (pictured below with arrow).

This gives you the ability to easily keep track of which teachers you have invited, and which teachers have followed through to set up their accounts. And again, once your preferred teachers are associated with your school, students can use the same web link (URL) you sent them for signup to see a list of these teachers and book lessons with them (pictured below).
