My Audio Gear Won't Pass Latency or I/O Tests

Last Updated: Sep 26, 2014 02:27PM CDT
Before you can play music in sessions with others on JamKazam, you must set up your audio gear and pass latency and I/O tests to ensure that your gear will perform as needed to support good play sessions. If you are having trouble getting your audio gear to pass these tests, here are tips to troubleshoot your issues and set things up for success. Troubleshooting guides are organized below based on your particular computer and audio gear. Please click the link that best describes your gear to view the troubleshooting tips for your setup:

Mac Computer Using Built-In Microphone & Headphone Jack

Mac Computer Using Audio Interface

Windows Computer Using Audio Interface with ASIO Driver

Windows Computer Using Audio Interface with Kernel Streaming

If your audio interface is passing the latency test, but is failing due to reports of I/O rate or I/O variance issues, we'd suggest that you exit the JamKazam application, reboot your computer, then start up the JamKazam application, and try again. We've found that with certain audio interfaces, especially on Windows using ASIO drivers, a reboot of the computer will clear up this issue and let your audio interface pass the test.
